Developed by Rarebyte / Greenheart Games, Game Dev Tycoon was a Netflix game, now removed from Netflix in Mar 11, 2026. Client-complete. Strip the Netflix SDK entitlement gate and it runs offline. A working offline build or asset bundle is published.
Rarebyte's expanded Netflix edition of Greenheart Games' game-studio sim, on Netflix 2024-03-12 to 2026-03-11. Unity IL2CPP; the Netflix login gate is the only wall. Android (gen-2 com.netflix.games, Unity bridge) needs more than granted access: boot gates on the Netflix profile, so getCurrentProfile must return a synthetic one whose player id stays stable, since save filenames embed it. iOS is an older build on the gen-0 NGP SDK. Both done in one command by netflix-offline-patcher. The Netflix build adds licensed movie and show topics, content creators and livestreams, story events and extra rewards. The original Game Dev Tycoon remains on Steam, GOG, and the app stores without that content.
